Bengaluru FC sign Jessel Carneiro from Kerala Blasters FC - Reports

Bengaluru FC have completed the signing of Kerala Blasters FC left-back Jessel Carneiro on a two-year deal according to Marcus Mergulhao. The 32-year old Indian defender's contract with the Blasters runs out this summer and he has already signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues on a two-year contract.

Jessel has enormous experience in ISL representing the Blasters 63 times in his 4 year tenure at the club. Jessel initially joined the blasters ahead of the 2019-20 season on a one year contract. Following his good perfomances, he was rewarded with a three year extension. He is the captain of the Blasters for the last two seasons under Ivan Vukomanovic and has led the club to the ISL finals in the 2021-22 season.

Brilliant defensively, Jessel has also evinced his qualities in the attacking third registering 6 assists in the league. With the way Simon Grayson wants his side to play, Jessel would be a great addition as he can provide competition to Roshan Singh and can slot in as a fullback as well as a wingback.
